Garbage Sir came to AIU!!
From November 7th to 15th, we had Devendra dai, our most cooperative partner visited Akita and shared his wonderful experience with many people! This is his blog after his departure to his next destination...
We hope to see you again!!
Coming to Japan is always exciting for me. I used to hear the economic growth, infrastructure development, systematic mechanism, helpful and humble society etc. as identity of Japan and Japanese People. When I landed first time in Haneda Airport in Tokyo on 6th November I started to experience such thing in my practical life. The transportation and the timing were exact and people were ready to help at any cost.
I am so thankful with my friends in Akita International University (AIU). Since last 3 years I am connected with meSANGA project that Makito Kochihira has started in AIU. That’s why I got an opportunity to go and be involved with the students and professors there. I really see and realized that AIU is building the future leader for global.
I do have meanly three goals for my visit to Japan this time. The first one is to explore my activities under SAMDAN and expand the network for organizational welfare. The second one is experience and to learn. The third one is visiting my Japanese friends and family that I knew already.
Presentation and interaction on the topic of 'Sustainability and Climate Change' on 12th November with Professor Mary Frances Agnello and her students, Pre-panel meeting, organizational presentation and panel discussion on the topic of 'Poverty and Education' with students and Prof. Cherie Brown on 14th November was very motivational. Dinner party with next and old meSANGA team members on 12th November in the evening, cards sailing events realized me the great heart of meSANGA team for Nepal and the work that I am doing in Kathmandu. Thank you AIU, thank you meSANGA team.
My friend Wakana arranged the school visitation in her local town Yokote city in 9th November. As Children-BEEP has been working with different schools in Kathmandu it was very important for me to see how the education system in developed country, Japan is. I visited Omonogawa Elementary school and Yokote Meiho JHS. I found children have lots of opportunities to develop their carrier here in Japan. They have enough facilities and infrastructure. The teachers look very committed for children's future and very hard working. Cleanses looks the part of academic curriculum and looks like the habit for every single students. This is the big difference between Nepal and Japanese schooling system. I really impressed by looking the humbleness of the school management team including the principles from both schools. I show lots of opportunities and lots of infrastructure but the same time the number of students in school looks very minimum. May be this is some things challenging Japanese society lately. And also felt like activities and work load for both teachers and students is comparatively much than in schools in Kathmandu. I have lots good thought that I am taking back from this schools.
My friend Wakana's family did a lot for me and gave their warm love which has touched my heart so deeply. Now I am in Okinawa. Again, I am surrounding with good people with very good activities. Japan is giving me friends and family, it has been helping me for expansion the network for expanding my work in Nepal. I think I have already learned very many things and achieved my determined goal in Akita. I am blessed to be here in Japan. Thank you all.
